Red diesel fuel is for off-road use. If it's found in an on-road vehicle, it's a very hefty fine. Illegal even in an emergency or by accident.

I just change my oil filter every 6k miles because it burns oil, and I put a quart in every week.

That’s an engineering and design failure. It was designed for quick low cost assay the factory with no consideration for future repairs. Plus the need to replace the display at such an early stage says to me the Ford quality sucks.

The weight of the old tailgate with the integrated step was heavy as hell and made it difficult to shut with one hand.... although the step itself was nice. This is an excellent solution... I LOVE MINE !!!! So cool.... what is hideous is a redneck with a pocket protector.

This review of yours has left me questioning your opinion.... I just got one and specifically bought the truck for the tailgate access.... it isn't hideous at all.... it is symmetrically designed, unlike the Ram solution. It is completely handy. Meanwhile... your form of transportation is a golf cart. Stick to fixing them... your views on aesthetics is bizarre. By the way - I am a designer..... this is good design.

I have a 2008 F250 5.4L with 285000 miles and runs great except on third fuel pump. Change the oil every 3000 miles even though ford says 7500. Cab is in great condition but bed is shot. Just wondering if worth keeping and fixing up.

the tab is for alignment during assembly only, a spun main or rod bearing is usually lack of oil and the bearing shells grabbing the crank and trying to spin with it. even if they do have tabs a spun bearing will just flatten or break off those tabs. any condition bad enough to get a non-keyed bearing to spin will also get a keyed bearing to spin

Where I come from you can be jailed if you're caught running farm grade diesel in your road car, yes, a truck is a road car, not farm heavy machinery.

I totally get what your saying on this oil thing, that being said i still believe it is a good idea to check your oil, which is like the heart of the engine, because you might have those normal everyday things going on and one of them might be excessive and thak it down below that threshold that it was designed to. It may not do anything that time but a continuous scenario like that every time it gets changed, may cause long term issues. Most dont keep track of fuel mileage either but i do and can tell you in my log every time i had a problem with the vehicle. Another example my dad had his transmission serviced at the dealership the last time it was done. He went to change it himself this time becuase he started having slipping issues, no leaks or anything on this truck and low miles but that transmission was definitely 3 quarts low and becuase he never checked the transmission fluid he did not find out until it was a problem

My parents had a 1979 Jeep Wagoneer. It had all kinds of electrical gremlins. If you had the cruise set and beeped the horn it would speed up 3 mph. Or it would decide to shut off for no reason then take forever to get started again.
